TEAM TAMESIDE WIN AT LEIGH SPORTS VILLAGE

 In a level 3 Athletics event TEAM TAMESIDE were victorious against teams from the other Boroughs of Greater Manchester.Watched by Shelley Holroyd from England Athletics, the athletes competed in Sprints,jumps and throws.

Team Tameside were pupils from Samuel laycock School , ASHTON UNDER LYNE.

Winning the first three sprint events the team got off to a perfect start.This was follwed by two marvellous runs from year 7 pupils to pinch third places.Christina Stones took another vicyory in CP 60m before the heavens opened once again this Summer.After a brief halt the evnt continued with wins in Senior Girls Shot and Silver in the Boys.We took another win in the junior Shot followed by victory in the Junior Long Jump,Senior Girls and Boys Long Jump.

Ryan Gorst ,Montel Browne,Paula McCann and Christina Stones were all invited to an England Athletics Talent CAMP to be held at Leigh Harriers in July .

 On the same weekend Chloe knight,Alex Teasdale and Jason Cotton represent The North West in the DSE National Athletics Finals at WARWICK University.These three have now left school but are continued to be supported.

 Chloe and Alex have represented England in the UK School Games.
