National young Athletes league Finals

A number of Tameside pupils competed for Sale Harriers in this major Final,Only four years ago ,Katrina Johnson -Thomson,who you may have seen in Jess Ennis's event , was winning the high Jump in the same stadium and same event.Montel Douglas is another Olympian who came through this league as did local girl Katie Byers (u20 record holder - pole vault) as did Holly Bleasdale who also did Hurdles and high Jump as well as Pole Vault.

  Tameside pupils involved were three boys from West Hill in the Pole VAULT, LED BY David Campbell.This has become a familiar event as Andy Sutcliffe (ex WHS) is National u23 Champion,brother Jacob followed him into vaulting , then david ,who inspires younger pupils Zak Harrop and

 Audenshaw High provided 400m winner Denver Morrison-massey , who also tasted success at the English Schools this year.Jimmy Castle did the u17 Steeplechase.

  Young Megan McHugh(Fairfield),who visited our Olympic athlete day at NCA in March , won the u13 Girls High Jump from stiff opposition from Southern clubs.Megan also competed in the Hurdles, just missing out on a medal.
