NATIONAL CHAMPION

The English Schjools National Championships is the pinnacle of Cross Country running for Schools.Runners must qualify from County events which are held two months earlier.Tameside runners represent Greater Manchester in this prestigious event which was first held in 1925.Previous participants in the English Schools include the likes of Mo Farrah , Jessica Ennis and many other Internationals. the first ten go on to represent England Schools in an International match.  It is very impressive then that Zak Miller of West Hill won the Intermediate Boys race against some quality opposition.Mr Campbell Head of P.E. at West Hill was there to support and was very pleased for his pupil who has taken on a very sensible training programme and been able to carry it out himself with very little guidance.Zak also spends alot of time training with boxing.   Other Tameside finishers included track star Jack  Crabtree also of West hillTom McGuiness (St Damians)Chris Middleton (Ashton 6th form) george Lewis (NCA)
