Samuel Laycock Sport Leaders host Football

Sport leaders from Samuel Laycock hosted a morning of Football for some Primary schools who have a history of having sent pupils to us.Hawthorns,Oakdale,St John Fisher unit, the Heys,St Christophers were all in attendance.Aoplogies to anyone reading this who has pupils considering us.Each year our intake can be very different to the last and may come from a school who have no experience of us previously.

The weather looked menacing and nervous visits to forecasts dominated the three days leading up to it.On the day although it was cool and breezy we got away with it.

The morning consisted of skills stations followed by small sided games. If we repeat this I think we will plan more games.Looking at the pupils all involved for the best part of two hours was very satisfying as the leaders got on with it without ant help on the day , although they had worked out their practices in P.E. and had a run through .

During refreshments at the end , Christina Stones (CP) spoke to the pupils about not allowing a disability to get in the way.She showed sixteen medals she has won in sport over the last four years.Pupils could not guess which leader was hearing impaired.

A good experience for all pupils involved.
