Inter School competition

Inter school competition is when schools compete against each other- these can be friendlies, matches, tournaments or organised leagues. Schools have traditionally organised these events and a lot of pupils participate representing their school in local events, county, regional and national competitions.

In Tameside, we have a comprehensive menu of events for all schools to take part in- this is our competition calendar and is on this website. You can book events via this system. Some schools may wish to arrange their own matches or friendlies. This is brilliant and gives pupils more opportunity.

We have school games events and non school games events in Tameside. Often the school games events are part of a pathway to county or National Governing Body events. Non school games events are competitions that are driven by a local need and may have a different approach. Schools often suggest events that could be run.

In Tameside we have several organisations who run events: Tameside Schools Football Association, Tameside Catholic schools association, Tameside PE association (secondary) and Tameside primary PE leaders. All are supported by the School Games Organisers.
